In the foreground of the previous image we have an interesting design innovation made by South Africans. {Fanfare/ bravo} Their unusual shape is intriguing and so is their name: ‘Dolos’. More information on this story on your trustworthy Wikipedia :{ wish I had this at school, when I was young} http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dolos these heavy concrete bone like features are here to protect the installations around us, from the action of the waves.
The pilot skills were really admirable here in the strong windy conditions to hook up cargo non stop for the 'vessel' back and forth.
180 degrees turn, never have your back to the sea, but this angle of the new Stadium to host the 2010 soccer world cup, caught my eye, more bone like features. All in a days work of one of the many Victoria & Alfred Waterfront activities.
The amount of construction and demolishing going on in the ‘Mother City’ (Cape Town) is in my eyes worrying. Do we have to loose all the charm and uniqueness of this one und only place in the world to more and new advancements? Most ancient cities like Italy, Spain etc it’s their main attraction and the new blends with old without the unquestionable compromise.
So from now on I will document all the ‘old’ architecture as we do when we overseas and do like all these sightseers come to do; hopefully it will not be too late.

Personally, I think that the stadium in Green Point is more of an eyesore to our environment than the air-craft carrier :-)
I can't agree more, wish we could figure out ways to spin the money without compromise...
